At about 8pm, Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to an incident in the 1700 block of Avenue A in Fresno concerning a gunshot. Upon arrival, deputies found the victim in the driveway with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Fort Bend County EMS arrived, stabilized the victim and transported the 44-year-old man to a site where LifeFlight could pick him up. LifeFlight transported the victim, who is the suspect's brother, to Memorial Hermann Hospital - The Medical Center.
Daniel Rice, 25, of Fresno was tracked to a residence in the 4400 block of Clover Street in Houston, and he was detained with assistance from the Houston Police Department.
Detectives learned that the two brothers began to argue and Daniel Rice shot his brother with a shotgun.
Daniel Rice faces two aggravated assault charges and is being held without bond in the Fort Bend County Jail. He is scheduled to see a magistrate Saturday.
