First funeral set for Bryan firefighter killed in in lodge fire

Fire Lieutenant Eric Wallace, 36, was killed in the line of duty at a fire at the Knights of Columbus hall in Bryan. Wallace served almost 13 years with the department. He is survived by his wife, Brandi, and five children.

The tributes continue for two firefighters killed in a weekend Central Texas blaze with the first of two scheduled funerals.

Funeral for Bryan Fire Lt. Eric Wallace, 36, is scheduled for Thursday morning at the First Baptist Church of Bryan, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery near Marlin.

Funeral for Bryan Fire Lt. Gregory Pickard is to be Friday at the Central Baptist Church in College Station, with burial in College Station Memorial Cemetery.

The two died in the blaze that broke out Friday night at a Knights of Columbus Hall in Bryan, about 100 miles northwest of Houston. Investigators said the fire was caused by the failure of an electrical cord in the hall's kitchen.

Both were honored at a public memorial Wednesday in Bryan that drew firefighters from statewide.
