High winds cause damage in Temple, in central Texas

TEMPLE, TX

A news release from the town Sunday says no one was injured as a result of the storm that moved through the community overnight.

There were reports of downed power lines, some streets littered with debris and trees uprooted in the town's western section. One tree fell into a home, but the occupant was unharmed, according to the news release.

Winds also ripped off an awning and the roof over four units at an apartment complex, causing significant damage, and some residents had to be relocated temporarily.

The storm hit around 3 a.m. Sunday.

Temple is about 130 miles south of Dallas.
