Police say Melissa Chavez, 28, was repeatedly run over by a car. Her body was found early Monday morning. Her significant other, Jessie Blanco, has been charged with her murder.
Police say Chavez and Blanco, 29, were involved in a dispute in which Blanco physically assaulted Chavez. They say Blanco then struck Chavez with his vehicle numerous times and then fled in the white Pontiac Vibe. Chavez was pronounced dead at the scene.
An anonymous Crime Stoppers tip led to the location of Blanco, and on Tuesday he was arrested without incident. He faces a murder charge.
