A woman told the 77-year-old victim she was there to cut away trees from power lines at her residence in the 2900 block of Avenue L. While the victim was distracted, an accomplice walked in and stole a 25-year collection of gold coins that belonged to the victim's late husband.
The only description they have is a Hispanic woman in her 20s driving a small maroon car.
Anyone with information is asked to call Santa Fe police.
