The Eyewitness News newsroom received calls last night about drivers pulling over on the Southwest Freeway, taking pictures of glowing objects in the sky.
We did some investigating and learned those glowing objects were actually sky lanterns released in an event held by the Syria Humanitarian Assistance Fund. The sky lanterns, which the group says were made of eco-friendly and biodegradable materials, were released during an event last night to raise awareness about the crisis in Syria.
