Harris Co. Sheriff's Junior Deputy Mounted Posse speading word about Houston Rodeo

HOUSTON

The Harris County Sheriff's Junior Deputy Mounted Posse is taking the proclamations they received Monday to the surrounding counties, inviting officials to participate in the rodeo. The young riders are doing it in the old method of delivery: the Pony Express ride.

"They make the ride and they actually deliver. It's just a reminder of our tradition here in Texas," said Harris County Judge Ed Emmett.

The posse will be dressing up Texas style with cowboy hats, boots, chaps, vests and badges during their relay ride.

The group has been around for 62 years, the oldest youth riding group in Texas.
