Judge orders mental evaluation for man who led police on high-speed chase

HOUSTON

Oscar Brown appeared in court Wednesday on two counts of aggravated assault of a police officer, as well as car theft. Investigators say he and his female passenger sped through the Third Ward before crashing head on into a police cruiser on December 26.

He bailed out of the pickup truck and was brought down by a police dog.

Brown's female passenger, Kimberly King, had been wanted on two charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was taken into custody without incident after the chase.
