Dad charged with murder for car accident that killed daughter

HOUSTON

The rollover wreck happened around 2pm on the westbound lanes of I-610 South Loop at Telephone Road. Chloe Trevino, 4, was ejected from the vehicle and died. Her father, Roberto Trevino, has been charged with felony murder.

During a court appearance this morning, prosecutors said that Trevino, 40, had a blood alcohol level of .08. He reportedly admitted to drinking and smoking marijuana before the accident, and pot was found in his pocket at the time. Trevino reportedly told police that he was on his way to pick up other children at school when the accident occurred.

A judge set Trevino's bond at $50,000. If he does post bond, he will be required to install a device on his car that tests the driver's breath for alcohol before the car can be started. Additionally, no one under the age of 17 will be allowed to ride with him, and any passenger must be informed that he has been charged with murder.
