Police say the driver of a Chevy Malibu was killed after the car crash into a tree, split in half and burst into flames.

The wreck happened around 8:45pm off Airport and MLK Boulevard in southeast Houston.

Police say a driver in a Chevy Malibu was going over 100 miles per hour when the car lost control and hit a tree. The impact was so intense that the car actually climbed the tree about 10 feet before falling and bursting into flames.

Police say the car also split in half.

Police say there was a child seat in the car, but they think the driver was alone at the time of the wreck.
