Police: Man leads police on chase with girlfriend's baby in car, punches arresting officer

BAYTOWN, TX

On November 29, Baytown police say Jamie Kyle St. Andre was speeding in the 2000 block of W. Main and an officer attempted to stop him, but St. Andre turned off his vehicles lights and fled. St. Andre traveled south on SH 146, turning onto 225 before making a u-turn and returning into Baytown via SH 146.

According to Baytown police, the pursuit ended in the 3200 block of Garth where St. Andre stopped in a parking lot and exited his car. Police say he refused commands to get on the ground and took a fighting stance, then punched a police officer before being taken to the ground where he continued to fight before being handcuffed.

Baytown police say inside of his 2008 Chevrolet Malibu was his 24-year-old girlfriend and her 6-month-old girl, neither of whom were harmed.

St. Andre, 21, is charged with endangering a child, assault-bodily injury to a public servant and evading arrest.
