Crime Stoppers tip leads to arrest of west Harris Co. hit-and-run suspect

HOUSTON

Jonathan Tyler Hudson, 20, had been identified last month by detectives as the suspect in the deadly October 28 accident, according to Crime Stoppers. But on Wednesday, authorities received an anonymous tip that he was staying at a motel in the 5500 block of West 34th Street. Hours later, he was taken into custody to faces two felony charges of accident involving injury or death.

Investigators say Hudson was the driver of a Chevrolet Camaro that failed to stop at a three-way intersection and plowed through a wooden fence and into a group of people at the party. The accident killed 34-year-old Ana Sylvia Borjas and injured several other people.

Hudson allegedly then ran away from the scene, and Crime Stoppers issued a public plea for help.

"Were it not for the collaboration of media, law enforcement and the citizens of Harris County, Jonathan Tyler Hudson may have absconded from justice permanently," the agency said in a prepared statement.
