Ft. Bend Co. DA investigator resigns amid sex abuse allegations

HOUSTON

Ft. Bend Co. DA Investigator Larry Linley resigned while he was being held at the Matagorda County Jail, Fort Bend County District Attorney John Healey tells Eyewitness News. Linley, who's charged with four counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, called another investigator over the weekend of November 17-18 to resign. Healey accepted his resignation, effective November 16.

Linley is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 2001 and 2002, when she was about 11 years old. The victim told investigators that he touched her inappropriately and made her watch pornographic videos and forced her to perform sex acts, but first told her mother about the alleged sexual assaults only earlier this year.

Linley has worked for the Fort Bend County District Attorney's Office for 11 years. The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office told us Linley had worked for them twice in the past and that both times he had passed a background check.

Authorities say they don't have any reason to believe the allegations have affected any cases he has worked.
