Police say the men had been in a fight before they saw each other last night on Old Bammel.
When the men came face to face, one of them pulled out a gun and shot the other.
The 25-year-old victim ran bleeding into a nearby convenience store and collapsed. He was transported to Willowbrook Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Deputies said their person of interest returned to the scene and they are interviewing him.
