A few hundred students ended the school week with tense moments after a shootout put two schools into temporary lockdown.

The shooting happened late Friday morning on Tiffin near Hirsch in the area around Dogan Elementary and Fleming Middle schools in northeast Houston. SkyEye 13 HD found a Mercedes SUV shot up in a ditch and officers talking to several people. No one was reported hit.

An eyewitness says he saw two groups shooting at each other just hours after another shooting nearby.

"They were shooting at each other since 10 o'clock last night, and all of the sudden they happened to come back today," the eyewitness told us. "Soon as I parked the car. standing in my driveway, boom. Same truck came back, got out, everybody started shooting again."

Officers questioned several people and recovered weapons at the scene. Police did not say what prompted the shooting.
