Strip club may be donating to political candidates

HOUSTON

Public records show lawyers who have worked for the Treasures strip club gave Republican candidates nearly $40,000 in the closing days of this campaign.

Most of the money went to Robert Talton, the GOP candidate for Harris County attorney. Vince Ryan, the current county attorney and Talton's opponent, sued to shut down Treasures earlier this year.

The rest of the donations went to Bud Wiesedeppe, who's running against the judge hearing the case against treasures.

Talton says he wasn't aware of most of the lawyers' connections to the club and adds, if elected, he will continue to sue strip clubs if they prove to be a nuisance.
