Methodist Hospital volunteers help build new home

HOUSTON

Volunteers spent hours installing insulation, windows, roof decking and performing other necessary tasks to ensure a safe home is built.

Through this program, Methodist grants employees to take time off to volunteer at partnering community organizations. Since its launch in late August, more than 1,100 employees have registered as volunteers through the program and more than 600 volunteer hours have been logged at various community organizations.

Houston Habitat is the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Established in 1987, they have built 900 homes and served more than 3,000 Houstonians as Family Partners. They welcome more than 5,000 volunteers each year to help out with home building, clerical work and retail work.
