Several gunmen broke into a home in Waller County and shot two men. Police believe it was a botched robbery attempt. It happened at a home on Velasco in the City of Brookshire, just west of Houston.

Authorities say one man had to jump out of the window to escape the bullets. The two people shot were taken by Life Flight to the hospital. One is listed in critical condition and the other is listed in stable condition.

The chief tells Eyewitness News the house has a bad reputation and they are working with the city to label it a nuisance.

"We've had several incidents here at the house where drugs have been sold," said Chief Brandi Jackson with the Brookshire Police Department. "This house has a history of drug activity. So that probably played a big role in what happened tonight."

The suspects involved in the shooting are still on the run.
