Lifeguards in California lose job over YouTube video

EL MONTE, CA

The lifeguards from El Monte, California filmed the video while off duty. The city had no problem with the video's content. They say the fact they used city resources without permission got them fired.

The resources were the pool, and city issued life guard uniforms. All 14 lifeguards lost their jobs. Most are students who work to make money for college.

The lifeguards plan to petition city hall next week in hopes of getting their jobs back. The YouTube video, by the way, has now gotten 18,000 views. You can watch it here.
