Indonesians find bodies of 4 killed in plane crash

JAKARTA, Indonesia

Temindung airport chief Rajoki Aritonang says the Piper PA-31 Navajo went down Friday in rugged terrain inside Kutai National Park. Rescuers finally made their way through dense jungle to the crash site late Sunday.

He said Monday that the bodies of Australian Peter John Elliott and three Indonesians were recovered and flown to a hospital in Samarinda.

Elliott was the owner of Elliott Geophysic International, a Perth, Australia-based company that chartered the flight. The four left Samarinda on Friday morning for a 90-minute flight to survey a coal mining site.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
