Two accused in fatal shooting of man who crashed into building

HOUSTON

Kerry Brown, 21, and Larry James Solomon, 19, are charged with murder in the death of 33-year-old Claude Kibbie. Police say on July 25, Kibbie was shot in the back of the head while he was driving and crashed into an apartment building at 9555 Crofton in northeast Houston. Kibbie was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead the following day.

On August 3 at Kibbie's funeral, police say a man came to the funeral home and some attendees apparently thought he was a suspect in Kibbie's death. They beat him up, even throwing him through a plate glass window.

Nobody was arrested for the altercation, and the man suffered minor cuts and bruises from his flight through the window. The only arrest was another man for unrelated warrants.

Further investigation and witness statements identified Brown and Solomon as the suspects in this case, according to police. Both were arrested August 3 without incident.
