Father and son accused of killing Katy teen

KATY, TX

This case was reset in court Monday morning, but we did speak with the prosecutor who said this is an odd case -- a father and son accused of committing murder together.

The family of Javier Torres, 17, came to court to hoping to see Bradley Stillwell, 45, and his 18-year-old son James. The two are charged with murder in the shooting death of Torres on Saturday morning.

The murder happened in west Harris County at 3:30am Saturday. Both men are charged with shooting Torres fatally, but prosecutors say they believe the father fired the fatal shot after some sort of fight broke out, calling the incident a "past history argument" which escalated.

With several people in two cars, Javier Torres became the target of a shooting. His family did not say exactly why anyone would target him, but they say this crime was deliberate.

Family spokesperson Mandi Guerrero said, "It's just disgusting. It's unthinkable. It's unthinkable. I have no idea what could be going through that father's mind to drive his child to kill other people."

The father and son both have criminal records for non-violent offenses. They were assigned attorneys and they are in the Harris County Jail on a $50,000 bond. A third man, Victor Najera, is also charged in this case, with evidence tampering, and is in jail on a $30,000 bond.
