Two Houston police officers trusted to enforce the law have been arrested for allegedly breaking it.

The officers in question work at the northwest HPD substation on Teague.

Officer German Ramos, 36, and 33-year-old Officer Kendrick Ferguson are accused of stealing cocaine and other illegal drugs, from drug dealers. They, and along with a third suspect, were arrested Tuesday night after an internal affairs investigation.

Felony charges were accepted just Wednesday afternoon. The officers are both charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. The amount alleged is said to be more than 400 grams of drugs.

We're told one officer was arrested on duty, while the other was arrested while he was off duty.

The officers were said to have been with HPD for only a few years.

HPD is not commenting on the arrest, saying the case is still under investigation by internal affairs.
