Two suspects arrested on school roof after police chase in Fort Bend Co.

HOUSTON

The pursuit started near Highway 99 and FM 1093 shortly after 10am today. It ended about 30 minutes later on the roof of Griffin Elementary School on Fry Road near Cinco Crossing. Katy ISD says Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office deputies were chasing two burglary suspects in a mini-van when they eventually pulled into the back parking lot of the school. The suspects then climbed onto the roof of the school.

The two men later surrendered to authorities without further incident.

Katy ISD had issued a lockdown for the school, but fortunately no students were at the school at the time.

We're told that shots were fired at some point during the chase, but authorities did not say by whom.

Investigators currently have Grand Parkway southbound lanes closed at FM 1093.
