A gas station store clerk in the Jersey Village area was shot by two masked men during a robbery.

At 2pm, the shooting was reported at a Conoco station at 11250 FM 529, just west of Highway 290. Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's Office say the store clerk was shot by two men who were robbing the place.

Detectives say the owner was in his office at the time and saw the shooting on the surveillance video. He came out and reportedly shot at the suspects as they fled in a brown pickup truck. That stolen truck was found ditched nearby with bullet holes and blood inside.

The clerk was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital by Life Flight. He was reportedly wounded in the back, and was stable, but in critical condition.

Deputies say there are two black male suspects. One was wearing a green shirt with a mask, and the other was wearing a red shirt and a mask. Deputies are still looking for the suspects.

The investigation is ongoing.
