Houston police hope surveillance video of a robbery outside a north side movie theater will help find the suspect.

It happened back on July 10 outside the Starplex Cinemas at 350 Northpark Drive. Police say at a few minutes after 6pm, as a woman was talking on her cell phone, a man approached from behind and snatched her purse. The woman was thrown to the ground and suffered scrapes and bruises to her stomach, arms and knees.

The suspect is described as a while male in his early to mid 20s, standing about 5-foot-9 and weighing around 180 pounds. He had a goatee and was wearing a light blue plaid sports shirt, tan cargo shorts, hightop basketball sneakers and a baseball cap.

The suspect then ran to a red Mustang with pinstripes and fled the scene. Witnesses say it had a partial license plate of BHR.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is urged to contact the HPD Robbery Division at 713-308-0700 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
