That's from the annual survey of best hospitals by US News and World Report. It was singled out for its ear nose and throat program, gastroenterology, geriatric and orthopedic care.
This year, the hospital will see its one millionth patient since it opened in 1944. It is also first in the number of cancer research grants awarded. Last year its research efforts totaled more than $600 million.
