Truck hits tree in front yard, catches fire

HOUSTON

The driver of pickup hit an SUV along Parker in north Houston at around 1am. The SUV ran off the road, hit a neighbor's tree and caught fire with the driver still trapped inside.

The neighbor came out and used a garden hose to put out the flames. Firefighters arrived and pulled the driver out of the wreckage. No word on his condition.

The neighbor says the tree stopped the vehicle from going into his daughter's bedroom.

"It's uncomfortable to live, to be at home, and not sleep right because you're afraid somebody's going to run into your house," said homeowner Alex Saldana.

He also says drivers constantly speed down his street and the city has refused his requests for a speed bump.
