Controversy over red light cameras in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, TX

A petition is being presented at City Hall this morning for a charter amendment vote to ban the cameras, which have been operating for two years.

Those against the red light cameras are hoping for a public vote on the issue this November. Four other cities in Texas have said 'no' to red light cameras at the ballot.

Cleveland City Council has called an emergency meeting for later today to talk about the contract and the petition.

They could vote to end the program tonight before it even goes to the ballot.
