We have new information in the investigation of a former music teacher accused of sexually molesting an 8-year-old female student.

A judge ruled Wednesday that while on bond, Lawrence Patrick can't have contact with anyone under 17, including his own 9-year-old child. Patrick's victim claims he touched her inappropriately more than 30 times during private piano lessons.

Patrick's attorney says the judge's ruling will only hurt his client's family.

"In this particular case, it would just be emotionally and financially terrible to have him taken out of his home, especially considering the amount of support he has in the community," said defense attorney Casey Keirnan.

He presented letters of support from Patrick's family, friends, and former students. The judge will review them and determine whether to lift the no contact order on Friday.
