City officials say they were notified Monday that a drinking water sample tested positive for E. coli bacteria. On a second test, one of three samples taken tested positive for indicator bacteria.
But this morning, the city says additional samples taken yesterday showed that the water meets state and federal standards for drinking water.
Galveston city officials will continue to monitor the water and will notify us when the boil water notice is lifted. And when we know, we'll pass that information on to you.
