Residents frustrated over constant flooding in SE Houston neighborhood

HOUSTON

Several days of rain have led to high water along Ledge and Nathaniel, just off the Gulf Freeway. The water rises up to the apartment complex on occasion. While we were there, cars were driving through high water. It had receded just enough to be passable.

But residents say it's only a matter of time before it happens again.

"Every time it's a little rain it do it like this," said one resident. "It kinda makes me get frustrated. I don't like taking my car through the water."

The city has been working on a solution to this problem since May. Workers say tree roots are obstructing the storm drains. Once the water recedes, they will have crews working on it.
