Shooting outside restaurant ends with two dead

HOUSTON

The shooting happened just before 8pm in the parking lot of a Taco Cabana in the 3900 block of West Sam Houston Parkway near Clay.

Police say some sort of argument broke out between people in two cars that were parked. Authorities say a man in one of the cars fired several gunshots at two people in another car.

Those two people were injured, but drove off in their SUV and crashed into trees just around the corner on the southbound feeder road of the Beltway. Both men died at the scene.

There is no word on how many shots were fired, but investigators tell us dozens of shell casings were found in the restaurant parking lot. Investigators are still looking for the gunman.

"The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot-8 about 180 pounds, heavy set, driving a dark or black Mercedes S-500," said M. Kahn with the Houston Police Department.

Police do believe the shooting may have been drug-related. Luckily, no innocent bystanders were injured during this shooting.

If you have any information on the suspect, you're urged to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
