It happened just before 9am at the Spencer Highway off-ramp . According to authorities, the driver was approaching the toll plaza when his brakes apparently failed. The driver told authorities he wanted to avoid hitting a car in front of him and slammed into the concrete median instead. The Pepsi truck did sustain heavy damage.
Fortunately, the driver was not injured. Police say the toll worker was shaken up following the accident but wasn't injured.
The ramp was closed due to the accident but it has since reopened.
