A suspect led police on a chase for nearly an hour, and it finally ended when he just drove home.

The driver of a Dodge Avenger was finally arrested in Jacinto City after a 45 minute chase that had officers throwing out spike strips on the East Freeway. The chase wound around the East Loop, and back and forth on I-10 several times.

The pursuit finally ended when the suspect drove home. He was arrested at his own apartment complex. Officers say he was putting other people's lives in danger while gunning it on the east side.

"It's irresponsible," said HPD Officer S.C. Foster HPD. "It's selfish and it's downright dangerous."

Police say the driver was originally going to be cited for a minor traffic violation. Now he's facing a felony charge of evading arrest. They still don't know why he refused to stop.
