Party in north Houston ends in tragedy

HOUSTONS

The incident happened Monday evening at the North Chase Village apartments on Sylvanfield Drive near Bammel.

A summer pool party ended with paramedics trying to revive a four-year-old girl found floating in the pool of the apartments.

After hearing a commotion, one resident rushed out near the pool.

"When I get to the pool, we see a girl just pretty much laying there, floating in the water. People had to pull her out and try and start resuscitating her," a resident named Terri told us.

Another residents says the four-year-old girl was at the pool party with family and friends. Where at least ten other kids were swimming.

"They say she was in three feet and ended up in five feet, and that's where they found her at," resident Angula Newton said.

When the toddler was discovered, family and friends called 911. Crews performed CPR on the girl and rushed her to the hospital.

Now, at least one mother is taking a huge lesson away from the traumatic scene.

"All kids like to swim, but you have to have that eye for your kids while they are in that pool," Newton said.

The girl was transported to Houston Northwest Medical Center, but didn't survive.
