Uriel Landeros was captured on a cell phone video as he spray painted the 1929 masterpiece "Woman in a Red Armchair" by Pablo Picasso, housed at the Menil Collection. After painting the image of a bull and the word "conquista," the suspect fled from the museum. The painting is valued at several million dollars.
The video was later uploaded to YouTube where it captured national media attention.
A Crime Stoppers tip identified Landeros, 22, as the suspect.
Last Friday, Landeros was charged with criminal mischief and felony graffiti, both third-degree felonies. Landeros is described as a white male, standing 5 foot 8 and weighing 180 lbs.
