Police on Thursday announced the death of 39-year-old Nathan Mitchell of Houston. Mitchell was discovered dead Wednesday of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound at a home where he allegedly had been hiding.
The body of 37-year-old Lashonda Moye was located June 4 in the tub of another residence after officers were summoned on a report of a home invasion. Officers say Mitchell was in the tub with the woman and he was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
A coroner determined the woman had been strangled.
Houston police later identified Mitchell as a suspect in the slaying.
