Two people injured in motorcycle accident

HOUSTON

It happened on Stuebner-Airline and Thora. Authorities say three motorcycles were driving behind a pickup pulling a trailer full of yard equipment. The truck slowed to make a turn and two of the motorcycles barely avoided a crash.

The third motorcycle slammed into the trailer, throwing the man who was driving it and the woman with him. They both flew about 50 feet.

Sheriff's deputies believe the motorcyclists were sober, but were probably speeding.

"We have witnesses that observed three motorcycles also driving northbound on Stuebner-Airline," said Sgt. S. Wolverton with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. "The witnesses say the motorcyclists were driving at a high rate of speed. We have estimated that their speed was at approximately 80."
