The plane went down around 1pm near the airpark on Highway 290 and Telge on the northwest side. SkyEye 13 HD arrived on the scene, not long after fire trucks used foam to put out a fire. The plane's nose was in the ground and its tail was straight up in the air.
We're told by the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department that the pilot said he was taking off when there was a gust of wind and he lost control, nose-diving into the ditch.
The good news -- the pilot was not hurt.
