The big rig was apparently hauling scrap lumber, which it spilled on the freeway. Crews responded to the scene to clear the accident and the debris.
The northbound ramp had been shut down and traffic was being forced off at the Broadway exit. At around noon, the ramp from I-45 north to 610 South Loop eastbound reopened. However, the Gulf Freeway southbound ramp to the 610 South Loop is still closed.
There is no word if anyone was injured in the accident.
The closure had earlier caused backups on the freeway.
