Man accused of threatening to kill his brother

HOUSTON

Johnathan Antonio Davis is charged with retaliation. According to court documents, during an investigation of an officer-involved shooting on May 7 outside Willowbrook Mall, police say Richard Davis was pointing a gun at his other brother, John (not Johnathan) Davis, when officers told Richard to put the gun down, he turned his back and pointed his gun at the officers. Police then shot and killed Richard.

Police say John Davis told them he called police because Richard was angry at his girlfriend, had a gun and was saying he was going to kill her.

Two days later, John told police that he called his brother, Johnathan, about the shooting. John says he told the defendant that the fatal shooting of Richard was not the fault of the police.

Court documents state Johnathan then told John that Richard's death was his fault and that he was going to come to Houston to kill him. John said Johnathan called him at least six times that day, making multiple threats to kill him for his report to the police. While an officer was interviewing John about the threats, Johnathan called John and the officer says he overheard Johnathan threatening John, including saying, "I'm coming to Houston to kill you and your mother."

Johnathan Davis, 27, is facing a bond of $20,000.
