Police search for teens behind two shootings in southwest Houston

HOUSTON

Victor Quevedo, 41, was killed late Saturday night at his apartment complex near Bissonnet and Synott in southwest Houston, where he and his family lived. Investigators say the car seen at that shooting was seen hours later at another shooting.

Houston police say the group of teens who murdered Quevedo shot someone else less than two hours later.

Detectives say the first shooting happened just before midnight Saturday at the Miramar Apartments. Quevedo, along with his wife and young daughter, had just returned home when four gunmen came up to them in the parking lot, demanding their wallets and cell phones.

The men reportedly shot and stabbed Quevedo, then made a quick getaway.

The second shooting happened in the 12000 block of White Cap Lane around 1:45am. According to Houston police, a 61-year-old man pulled his 2007 orange Hummer into his driveway when four gunmen approached him, shot him in the back and took his Hummer.

The victim in the second shooting was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest, where he was treated and released.

Police are now looking for the Hummer, along with the four teenage suspects who they believe are responsible for this pair of shootings.

"The suspects were four Hispanic males," said Sgt. Phillipe Rivera with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. "At this point, we're doing the investigation, trying to determine if we can get some positive ID on the suspects."

The suspects are believed to be in a dark blue four-door vehicle with tinted windows.
