Suspect takes unwilling passenger on wild ride

HOUSTON

Police first spotted the car speeding in northwest Harris County around 11:15pm Saturday.

The chase began on Rankin at Kuykendahl and ended in northwest Houston on Ellington at West Montgomery. The vehicle reached 100mph on the North Freeway.

According to police, the passenger inside the suspect's car kept yelling for the driver to let him out of the vehicle.

The driver finally stopped in front of the passenger's house where both men were taken into custody.

Police let the passenger go when he explained he was being held inside the car against his will.

Investigators found an unlicensed concealed handgun under the driver's seat.

Police said the suspect mistakenly thought he had outstanding warrants.

He now faces weapons and felony evading charges, officials said.
