Police in the small Rio Grande Valley town of Palmview worked with U.S. immigration agents to arrest the six, who will appear in federal court in McAllen on Tuesday. The six are suspected of involvement in the smuggling operation. At least four of the six crash survivors were detained as material witnesses.
The six helped lead authorities to a 15-year-old South Texas boy who they say was at the wheel of the death van. He's been charged with nine counts of murder after he crashed the van.
