According to investigators, the man robbed someone at gunpoint Sunday in the Montrose area and then robbed another person a short time later.
Police caught up with the suspect near Montrose at Westheimer and tried to pull over his vehicle, but they said he wouldn't stop.
An eight-mile chase ensued down Interstate 45, during which police said he was not speeding.
The man ended up stopping in a gas station parking lot in the 2900 block of the North Freeway near Cavalcade and he was taken into custody.
The man appeared to be in some sort of distress. He was transported to an area hospital via ambulance to be checked out.
