ABC13 viewer Megan Cress of Willis submitted photos Sunday of the heist.
It happened at a park off Rayford Road in The Woodlands.
Cress said their family was preparing an Easter egg hunt for the kids when the squirrel got a head start, stealing one of the plastic eggs.
The sly squirrel ran up a tree, opened the egg and ate the candy inside.
"I thought I would need the camera when the kids were hunting eggs, not when the adults were hiding them!" Cress said.
