Father accused of choking teen over church plans

HOUSTON

Seqoia Lemon, 41, is charged with injury to a child. On Saturday, detectives say Lemon became enraged when his 13-year-old daughter expressed her desire to help her church group work on homes for people in need of wheelchair ramps.

The girl's summer plans, say investigators, triggered a violent attack during which they say the father straddled the girl, held her down and spit tobacco in her face, then grabbed her neck, choking her as she tried to get away. Prosecutors say the incident was only interrupted when Lemon's roommate showed up, but they believe this could have had a far more serious outcome had no one intervened.

The judge ordered Lemon held without bond and signed an emergency order of protection which states that he may not come within 200 feet of his daughter.

Her mother is caring for the girl now. Lemon is not allowed to come within 200 feet of that residence either.

We called CPS but they do not yet have a record of this incident.
