Allan Batchelor was free on $2,500 bond following his arrest Wednesday at his home in Clear Lake Shores. He's charged with misdemeanor online impersonation.
Interim Police Chief Kenneth Cook told The Galveston County Daily News Thursday Batchelor made the posting Feb. 21 and the complaint against him was filed March 16 by Barbara Nichols. Her husband is seeking a city council seat in the town between Houston and Galveston.
Batchelor doesn't deny making the now-deleted post, saying he was upset she had used an email distribution list of his to send messages to residents and businesses.
