A passenger aboard a US Airways flight from North Carolina to Florida has been arrested after witnesses say she attacked crew members before being wrestled to the jet's floor.

A spokeswoman for the airport authority in Fort Myers, Fla., said Wednesday police arrested a US Airways passenger. Spokeswoman Victoria Moreland would not provide details until an arrest report is released. US Airways did not return calls.

WNCN-TV in Raleigh reports a passenger on Flight 1697 from Charlotte to Fort Myers kicked, scratched and spit on crew members. The TV station said one of its reporters was in the Fort Myers terminal and spoke to crew members.

The incident came hours after passengers aboard a JetBlue flight from New York to Las Vegas had to restrain that plane's agitated pilot.
